Scott-Vincent Borba's Favorite Cost Effective Skin Treatments

Hi everybody.  Below are my favorite "pantry skin treatments."

They are not only fun and unique ways to pamper yourself, but incredibly cost-effective too! Enjoy!

Singing in the rain: Take one cheese cloth strip, one macerated guava (for texture and tone improvements), one rosemary sprig (for skin glow) and a half cut and sliced cucumber (for conditioned, soothed skin). Wrap the concoction around the shower head with a rubber band. Shower pressure should be set on low to allow the maximum benefits to cascade your whole body.

Hallelujah Paraffin Mitts: Apply a nickel size amount of Vaseline, olive oil, or shea butter to hands and feet. Have pre-cut cling wrap
available to wrap treated area. Finally, cover with clean dry socks to lock in deep moisture and suppleness overnight.

Vita-Vegi anti-aging mask: Mash one large avocado (contains anti-aging omegas), one Vitamin E soft gel (expelled), a dash of cayenne pepper for thermal stimulation, and one tbsp honey for an anti-microbial effect. Leave on for 15  minutes.

Cellulite Soak: Spa treatment in your bath using 1/2 gallon of whole milk (lactic acid is an anti-dimple ingredient), 1/2 cup of honey (a natural antimicrobial) and at least four Alka-Seltzer tabs for a fizzing effect to help stimulate circulation. You can help control the orange peel effect while reading Decisive Latino magazine.

Slim Shake: One whole apple, pear or guava (which contains natural fiber and pectin which helps with digestive track bloating and creates a full sensation). Steep one cup of green tea (a natural metabolism stimulant). Add a 1/3 cup of blueberries (or berry of your choice - frozen or seasonal), one tbsp honey, half cup ice and a 1/3 cup soy or skim milk. Blend to desired consistency. Jump start your metabolism with this for breakfast or refrigerate for a meal replacement shake.

BORBAtini Anti-aging Martini: One chilled Martini shaker containing one BORBA Acai Nutraceutical packet, eight ounces of soda water, half a cup of ice and one shot Vodka. Shake to froth mixture. Wet martini glass rims with water and dip in purple sugar (drop purple food color mixed with thre tbsp sugar). Pour and garnish with a frozen blueberry at bottom of glass.

Clarifying Chocolate Masque: Stir together 3/4 cup lukewarm water one tbsp honey, 1 tbsp chocolate syrup, and 1 cup instant oatmeal. Apply the mixture to your face with a clean flat paintbrush and let dry about 15 mins, then lightly scrub the mixture off. The oatmeal will soak up excess oils and exfoliate when scrubbed away, the honey will refine pores while killing surface bacteria, and the chocolate polly phenols help with fine lines and wrinkles while soothing the senses!

Firming Yolk Masque: Beat sagging by beating an egg yolk and adding a teaspoon of baking soda. Brush the mixture on your face with a clean flat brush. Let dry for about eight minutes and gently wash off. Egg yolks are high in skin nourishing vitamins A, D, and E, as well as skin firming protein, and baking soda is good for tightening skin and killing bacteria.

No wiggle Anti-Aging Gelatin Serum: Scoop out a tablespoon of unflavored powdered gelatin and mix it with a tablespoon of water and a drop or two of olive oil. Gelatin is made of collagen which is the protein that gives skin elasticity, and the olive oil keeps the mixture from crusting off and is ultra moisturizing. Apply to the face day and/or night.

Pretty in Pink: Pepto Bismol and Milk of Magnesia, though not naturally occurring, are used to settle and sooth the stomach. These products can be applied to the skin straight from the bottle as a clarifying mask.
