Toyota Recalls 2.3 Million Vehicles, Halts Sale of Affected Cars

Toyota made headlines when it announced yesterday that it was recalling 2.3 million vehicles, and would be halting sales of the affected models until the issue was resolved. The recall covers eight different Toyota nameplates and corrects a condition in which the accelerator pedal can become mechanically stuck in a partially opened position or be slow to release. Toyota plans to halt production at five North American plants during the first week of February to "assess and coordinate activities."
